design studio intern

We have an opportunity for a design studio intern in our Long Island City office. This internship is ideal for someone who is eager to learn from, and be a part of, an evolving, multi-faceted studio.

The intern will assist the design studio projects from research to implementation. Projects may include: production of e-mail newsletters, print, web, & social marketing promotions and site updates, presentations, catalogs, product technical drawings; image retouching/editing/uploading/downloading; studio organization; shipping product samples; meeting setup; photo shoot and trade show assistance; and an occasional errand. 

Candidates must honor the creative process, treating each step with the utmost importance. Candidates will have the ability to take direction well and manage expectations, while working independently, and as part of a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills is important. A strong work ethic is key, as is tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Must be reliable, professional, resourceful, and considerate. An artisanal sensibility with strong typographic skills and an understanding of color and image is welcomed.

technical skills & requirements

Candidates should be in the process of earning a degree or should have a degree in a design or marketing design field and be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of SquareSpace and MailChimp is ideal. Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
