Since opening in 2003, Sprout has grown to become a recognizable brand with multiple locations in Brooklyn and Chicago. Initially a specialty plant shop offering a small selection of household wares, both Sprout locations now include neighboring storefronts focusing primarily on kitchen and table. In August of 2018, Aesthetic Movement and the creators of Capsule launched Shoppe Object — the new, semi-annual independent trade show for the home and gift industry. The A/M Studio created a visual strategy that would communicate the event’s fresh, collective approach to the trade show experience, seeking to attract a community of visionary brands and retailers. From blowtorch to paintbrush, Fernanda Sibilia has been manipulating metals for years: first at Argentina’s prestigious Escuela Municipal de Joyeria, and thereafter for her namesake jewelry line, established in 1996. The Aesthetic Movement partner recently upgraded to a large new studio and workshop in the La Paternal neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. A/M partners, Fredricks & Mae, have launched their new studio and storefront in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights. In their words, “It will be a space that changes with the seasons.” Currently, the store is a celebration of Fredricks & Mae’s 10 years in business and the duo is using the event as an opportunity to showcase a curated selection of objects made by friends and admired contemporaries. The result is an inspiring assortment of thoughtfully designed objects, including handmade ceramic pieces, brightly colored coffee table games, and a set of custom-made lava lamps.
